SHUMAS in Partnership with UNICEF and MINSANTE, Resume training on the primary prevention program of Polio among children in West Region. Cameroon

SHUMAS and her partners The United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF)  and MINSANTE, firm up through an MOU had as its principal goals; the primary prevention program of Polio among children which is intended to reduce the vulnerability of children facing this pandemic by providing knowledge, structures of dialogue and necessary equipment, targeting women groups, through mobilization campaigns and awareness, health communication strategies and reinforcing the capacity of women groups in the tracking of lost to follow-up children in the north west and west region of Cameroon .

Objectives of the training is to improve routine and supplementary vaccination coverage through the training of women groups, community based organizations (CBOs) and community leaders on communication, vaccination calendar, causes and effects of polio and strategies to identify children lost to follow-up as well as monitoring supplementary vaccination campaigns.

Beneficiary communities and date of training include;

6-17/12/2017   Kouoptamo, Banourain,

17-18/12/2017 Foumbot,

19-20/12/2017 Mifi and Malantouen

SHUMAS – AidCamps International brings health care to the people of Noi.

The Strategic Humanitarian Services (SHUMAS) Cameroon and its partners, AidCamps International, handed over a refurbished Health Center to the Noi Community, Situated in Jakiri Sub Division, Bui Division of the North-West region. A ceremony that was chaired under the auspices of the General coordinator of SHUMAS, the Divisional Officer and Mayor of Jakiri Sub Division, it is their wish to see an improvement in health care situation of the people. They urged the community to fully embrace the gifts and ensure sustainability.

SHUMAS and her partner AidCamps International, renovated the Noi health center, constructed a 3-compartment toilet and shower rooms as well as hand washing facilities, providing beds, matrasses, medications etc.

SHUMAS Cameroon and partner Building schools for Africa (B.S.F.A) handed over newly constructed classrooms and equipment to 2 schools in South Region, Cameroon

The Strategic Humanitarian Services (SHUMAS) Cameroon and its partners, Building Schools For Africa (BSFA), handed over two schools projects to Government Bilingual Primary school (G.B.P.S) Meyomessala and Ecole Publique (E.P.) D’Edjom all in Dja et Lobo Division, South Region. Cameroon. There was great celebration on 6th and 7th December

at Edjom and Meyomessala respectively in the South Region – it was like Christmas had come early! . This occasion was presided over by the Divisional Officer for Dja et Lobo Division. South Region, Cameroon

The project had the following components:

1) EP D’edjom (set in a beautiful clearing in the heart of the forest, was created in 1964 but has never received any classrooms, relying instead on the generosity of other funders)

– Newly constructed classrooms, equipped with 27 benches, three chairs, three tables.

– An office

– 4 compartment toilet block with hand washing facility.

– A Clean and well-constructed borehol

2) GBS Meyomesalla (has never had any classrooms of its own since it was created in 2009 with fewer than 40 pupils. The bilingual school has been coping by borrowing rooms from the nearby French school. Enrolment at GBPS is now increasing very quickly and almost 200 children will enjoy from this awesome project)

– Newly constructed classrooms, equipped with 27 benches, three chairs, three tables.

– An office

– 4 compartment toilet block with hand washing facility.
